Application Forms
On receipt of your application form, either on paper or in electronic format, you will receive confirmation of your entry together with route details. In order to minimise our overheads we would like to send this information out by email. Please complete your email address clearly on the application form. if you do not have email we will post out confirmation of entry and route details, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope.
Refunds & Cancellations
We will only offer refunds in the event that we have to cancel The Grindleford Gallop.
Equipment
This is a late Winter/early Spring event and we do expect entrants to carry clothing, emergency equipment and rations suitable for the varying, and possibly extreme, weather conditions. The recommended kit is: full body cover, hat, gloves, compass, whistle and emergency food.
Dogs
As this event takes place during the lambing season we regret that we cannot allow any dogs on the course or at the pavillion. To avoid any problems on the day please do not bring your dog.
Age Limit
All entrants must be at least 16 years of age. All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult and must declare their age on the entry form.
Start Times
Walkers may start at any time between 7:00am and 9:30am (registration will be open from 7:00am onwards).
The runners race starts as a mass start, on the field over the bridge, at 10:00am. Those NOT planning to participate are requested to enter as walkers and complete the course in their own time.
The Country Code
The route crosses private land and entrants are respectfully requested to keep to the footpaths and to honour The Country Code.
Emergency Contact
You must provide an emergency (mobile phone) telephone number so that we can contact you during the event and you can contact us if you experience a problem. The emergency procedures and contact numbers will be clearly stated on the Walker's checkpoint card. Walkers will be given their checkpoint card at registration on the morning of the event.
Entry Data
Details of entry information will be stored electronically for the purposes of race administration. This information may be used to inform you of the details of next years event. Your information will not be disclosed to any other organisations.
