The Grindleford Gallop

Grindleford Primary School

Ours is a small village school and, despite our enviable location, as a rural school funding is always tight.

Our very active PTA work hard to provide the school with additional funds. The Grindleford Gallop is our main fundraising event of the year. Previous years events enabled the PTA to make a substantial donation of £6k towards the creation of a state of the art ICT suite - an enhancement to the schools facilities which would not have been possible without this donation and one that has had an immediate, positive, effect on the children's education.

There is a strong family/village atmosphere at our school where brothers and sisters share the same school experience; and a strong partnership between parents, pupils, staff, governors and local businesses - all working together with the same aim - to provide the very best education possible for each child at Grindleford Primary School.

Behind the scenes, many villagers will have been working hard to ensure that the event runs smoothly and is a great success. From organising entry registration and publicising the event to making sure that there is a mountain of homebaked cake and flapjack for Gallop participants.

On the day, whatever the weather, mums, dads, grandparents and others will be on car park duty, marshalling the route, checking you in, making you hot drinks and cheering you over the line when you've finished.

The Grindleford Gallop is a popular and worthy event and we thank you for supporting it. We wish you and your fellow entrants good luck and look forward to seeing you on the day!
